Brave Girls, one of the second-generation girl groups, caused a turnaround in which “Rollin,” released in 2017, became popular again ahead of its disbandment, dominating the charts. Brave Girls worked mainly on the second term members, even this was about to be disbanded after the contract period ended. LABOUM, which was reorganized into a four-member group, was also able to continue its girl group activities as “Imagination Plus” became popular.
Unfortunately, Brave Girls will eventually disband in 2023 without renewing their contract with their agency.
JYP’s new girl group NMIXX debuted. Girl group IVE, which includes Ahn Yoo-jin and Jang Won-young from IZWALL, debuted. There have been rumors that a girl group involving visual director Min Hee-jin, who moved from SM to Hive, is preparing for its debut.
In 2021, there were many incidents related to school violence, and there were many withdrawal cases related to school violence within the girl group.
