Brave Girls, one of the second-generation girl groups, caused a turnaround in which “Rollin,” released in 2017, became popular again ahead of its disbandment, dominating the charts. Brave Girls worked mainly on the second term members, even this was about to be disbanded after the contract period ended. LABOUM, which was reorganized into a four-member group, was also able to continue its girl group activities as “Imagination Plus” became popular.

Unfortunately, Brave Girls will eventually disband in 2023 without renewing their contract with their agency.

JYP’s new girl group NMIXX debuted. Girl group IVE, which includes Ahn Yoo-jin and Jang Won-young from IZWALL, debuted. There have been rumors that a girl group involving visual director Min Hee-jin, who moved from SM to Hive, is preparing for its debut.

  • February 3 – CLC’s Elkie has signed off with Cube Entertainment.
  • Feb. 22 – Seo Yul and Gowoon of Berry Good have terminated their contracts with JTG Entertainment and left.
  • April 27 – Signature’s Yea and Sun have signed off with C9 Entertainment.
  • April 29 – IZ*ONE has ended its project activities.
  • May 12 – Berrygood disbanded.
  • May 18 – Source Music announced that their contract with their girlfriend will end on May 22.
  • May 22 – GFRIEND’s contract with Source Music is terminated.
  • May 23 – Six Bomb, which had been on hiatus for more than two years, terminated its contract with its agency World Event Agency.
  • June 2 – XUM disbanded.
  • August 14 – Su-jin of (G)I-DLE has withdrawn. (Related to School Violence)
  • August 17 – Hayeon of Floria withdrew.
  • August 22 – Solia disbanded (debuted on August 17). The team disbanded five days after its debut. T.T)
  • Sept. 8 – Yoo-jung of Laboum withdrew due to the expiration of her contract with her agency. Sonamoo’s Eui-jin, Min-jae, and New Sun withdrew after the contract was terminated. Deanna then withdrew on September 9.
  • November 1 – Woollim Entertainment announced that their contract with Lovelyz will expire on November 16. Only Babysoul renewed their contracts, and the rest of the members decided to go their separate ways.
  • November 16 – SORN terminated its contract with Cube Entertainment and withdrew from CLC.
  • December 29 – The pine tree effectively dismantled when Heidi, the last remaining pine tree, terminated the contract.
  • The API has broken up.
