BLACKPINK’s Lisa was reportedly scammed out of 1 billion won (approximately $770,000) by her manager. The former manager, who has been with the group since their debut, took 1 billion won from Lisa by promising to find her real estate. However, Mr. A spent the money on gambling and other activities.
Mr. A is said to have had a good relationship with not only Lisa but also YG Entertainment and the members of BLACKPINK. He was fired from his job after the scam was discovered.
YG released an official statement, saying, “Through our internal investigation, we have confirmed that Lisa was defrauded by her former manager, Mr. A.” As a trusted manager, Lisa wanted the case to be resolved amicably. After paying back some of the fraudulent amount and discussing how to pay back the rest, the company said that Mr. A has now been dismissed from the company.
BLACKPINK’s contract with their agency YG Entertainment ends this year. The agency is reportedly negotiating with the members of BLACKPINK to extend their contract. Among them, Lisa is reportedly having difficulty negotiating a contract with the agency.
Personally, I would like to see all four members of BLACKPINK on the same stage again and again. I hope the contract ends well and BLACKPINK can continue their activities.
